My interest in the relationship between sound and memory spawned this project. Apart from the iconic memory, which is the visual memory, echoic memory, which is auditory memory, is also pretty important, and I believe it would have different effects compared to the iconic one. Due to the COVID-19, lots of people are away from their hometown. They can reduce their feelings of homesickness not only through pictures, but also through several familiar auditory pieces of the places they grew up in.
Xitou Village 溪头村

Xitou village is located in Conghua, Guangzhou, and it is a good place for traveling. The surrounding environment of the village is beautiful, with dense mountains and forests, deep canyons, clear streams, strange stones and pools everywhere. Besides, as a village, this place also has a busy market to sell local food, fancy handiworks, etc.
Dim Sum Restaurant

Native Guangzhou people usually have their breakfast at the Dim Sum restaurant if they have time. This is also where the travelers would like to visit and experience. In this place, people prefer the slower lifestyle so as to enjoy their leisure time for drinking couples of tea and chatting with family and friends. This process usually lasts until noon.

Surrounding by the modern building complexes, in Tianhe District, just near my school, there is a special existence----its decrepitude set it apart from the skyscrapers around it. Shipai Village is one of the biggest in Guangzhou with the longest history. The road there is narrow and dark, with lots of electro mobiles and bicycles going through. It can be seemed as an integration of urban and rural culture, a combination of modern and tradition. The architecture here still remains the convention of Chinese ancient architectural styles.

Guangzhou has a quite serious traffic problem, so a lot of people prefer subway as a way to go out. Among various lines, Line 3 may be the most crowded, as it passes through the city center. As the sound of "The next station of this train is Tiyu Xilu" occurs, individuals can recall their previous experience of taking the subway.
